Considering positive Writology reviews and a sleek modern website, I decided to give this website a try. At first glance, it looked like a legitimate platform that matches customers to freelance writers. However, the more I discovered about the company, the less trustworthy it seemed. Was Writology reliable for me? Read on to find out.
True to its name, the company specializes in writing. The range of services is extensive and includes everything from copywriting to magazine articles, job applications, user guides, and more. Besides the traditional writing service, Writology offers rewriting (paraphrasing), proofreading, editing, and formatting. I was surprised to see PowerPoint Presentation in the list of services, though it came with speech-writing. Overall, Writology tries to present an image of a go-to writing company, not just another paper-mill.
Writology prices are hard to decipher due to a glitchy order form. What I can tell is that the cheapest writing rate is $15.39 per page. This is for a maximum 10-day deadline and a high school level. The shorter deadline you choose, the higher you price will be. For instance, high-school writing price skyrocketed to $27.59 when I set a 12-hour deadline. Writology also hosts a marketplace for pre-written papers and articles, and the prices range from $5 to $100+ depending on the word count and topic. I couldn’t find a Writology discount code, so I’m not sure there is any way to bring the price down.
I started my research with Writology Reddit search and found a couple of posts looking for writers and several blog links, none of them dated within the last two years. Still, Writology rating on Trustpilot and SiteJabber is four stars and above due to mostly positive reviews. However, most testimonials commend copywriting or business writing services, others are by writers themselves, praising work conditions.
I hate annoying live chat windows, but sometimes they are helpful. Writology did not offer me the option to receive instant answers. Instead, the company directed me towards the FAQ section and blog. There was also an option to request a callback, but I did not want to share my contact number before even placing the order.
Is Writology safe? The jury’s still out. On the one hand, you can use a free Writology plagiarism checker to ensure your paper is original. On the other hand, I couldn’t find the Terms of Service anywhere on the website. There was no checkbox in the order form. While the company promises revisions and refunds, you cannot be sure they will deliver. They do not provide any legal paperwork and can change their claims without notice. This lack of transparency seems sketchy.
I opted for Writology writing service, as I had no time to deal with the bidding process. The order form was quick and straightforward, but a little glitchy. It took me a dozen tries to set the parameters I needed because some fields kept returning to default values. I was surprised when I did not find academic writing among the services on offer, but they appeared once I typed “essay” is a search bar. However, when I chose copywriting services, the order form still asked for disciplines. Writology tries too hard not to look like an academic writing company, but that’s exactly what it is.
When I first visited Writology, scam was the last thing on my mind. I should have paid more attention to their samples and other red flags. The paper they delivered made no sense. It lacked an introduction along with a thesis statement, and I could not find a conclusion. I ordered an argumentative essay but got a mess of quotes and opinionated ramblings instead. No self-respecting college student would ever submit it to a professor!
The order form is so short, there is no place for additional services. The only thing that stood out for me was the language selection. I could choose between American, Canadian, British, or Australian English.
So is Writology legit? Not by any stretch of the imagination, it isn’t. Here is a recap of my Writology review to remind you why you shouldn’t trust this company.
