Is Essaycapital scam? With a glitchy website under reconstruction and no information about their headquarters or writers, it certainly seems so. In my experience, this website is not what it wants you to believe. In fact, it is a property of Cyprus-based Writeperfect LTD. One order was enough to discourage me from further dealings with Essaycapital.
This writing company offers to take over any writing job, from academic writing to copywriting and everything in between. They can edit, proofread, rewrite, and paraphrase your paper, help with the job application paperwork or a business plan. The most confusing type of work on offer was the “non-word assignment.”
If you believe the company’s claims, all their writers possess Master’s and Ph.D. degrees. However, my experience suggests otherwise.
Essaycapital prices are a little above mid-range, starting at $14.03 per page. However, this rate applies to high school level writing on a 20-day deadline. College-level rates start at $16.14, while Ph.D. students have to pay at least $25.43 per page. I decided to order a 3-page-long essay with five days to spare and used an Essaycapital discount code for first-time clients (first15) that sliced 15% off my order total. Overall, I had to pay a little under $50 for my paper.
When I started my research, I was pleasantly surprised by Essaycapital rating that was around four stars across SiteJabber and Trustpilot. However, the more I looked into the numbers, the less sense they made. There was only one 4-star review on Trustpilot. SiteJabber painted a better picture. There were plenty of positive Essaycapital reviews dated back between 2015 and 2017. Newer reviews were mostly negative with complaints about poor writing, missed deadlines, and plagiarism.
I couldn’t download a single sample posted on the website and used live chat to request active links. Ashley Walsh was quick to respond and check the page for me. According to her, the site was under reconstruction, and the samples were no longer available. It seemed strange the support team hadn’t known of the reconstruction before my questions. Overall, my experience with the support agent was pleasant, even though it raised more questions about the company.
Is Essaycapital reliable? You won’t think so if you read the fine print of Terms & Conditions. For one, you won’t get an Essaycapital refund if you wait longer than 14 days to claim it. Moreover, the company can cancel your order with less than half of the original deadline remaining and only return 30% of your payment. They could reimburse the full amount, but only as store credit for future orders. Essaycapital is also unwilling to refund late delivery and small writing errors. The best you can hope for are discounts.
The order form comprised four steps and was exhausting. Aside from traditional details, such as word count and the deadline, Essaycapital required my subject and paper topic, the number of sources, and more. The pre-checked features added over $20 to my order. The company assumed I would want to hire a TOP writer and receive text message notifications. I had to uncheck these manually to see the basic price. All this happened before they offered a variety of additional features. Finally, there was no way to use Paypal to pay for my order, even though I didn’t want to share my credit card information with this website.
Is Essaycapital legit? After getting my essay from them, I can’t vouch for this company. It wasn’t bad per se, but it was painfully dull without even a hint of creativity. The writer started with a dictionary definition and abused a thesaurus. Most sentences were so thick as to be unreadable. It felt like the writer wanted to make the paper sound smart and failed miserably. I wouldn’t have been able to use this piece if I’d intended to submit it to my college professor.
The third step of the order form offered a variety of add-ons. I could have ordered a plagiarism report with my essay, requested an initial draft or a one-page summary. I did not understand why I should pay $9.99 for VIP customer support or a high-priority status for my order. However, an additional quality check was the most expensive of all features, as it would have added 70% to my order total.
If you don’t have the time to read my full Essaycapital review, enjoy the highlights. I wouldn’t recommend this company because the pros to cons ratio is not in their favor:
